Ross Davenport began his swimming career at Belper Marlins where he swum under John Rossington. John was chief coach of Belper for 11 years before he unfortunately had to retired in 2001 due to ill health.
This year Belper Marlins have decided to come together and raise money for research into Parkinsons disease, which John was diagnosed with. So Ross made a very welcome return to the club to donate two of his international swimming caps to auction off and raise extra money for the research. One of the caps was the one he wore at the World Championships in Rome where he set the British record for the 200m freestyle.
Callum Bradley & Frances Marshall were the lucky recipients of the hats.
