Charlotte Henshaw, is now the European Champion in the SB6 100m Breaststroke beating the current Paralympic gold medallist Liz Johnson at the IPC European Championship, Reykjavik. Her time was just a little slower than her heat swim, but was still 2 seconds quicker than her pb going into the championships.
This is Charlotte’s first senior International Medal, and it is a fantastic achievement after finishing 4th in last year’s Paralympic Games. Charlotte swims in the S8 400m Freestyle today and although this is not her best event she is still looking for a solid performance.
Sam Hynd (now studying in Swansea) swam a great race in the SB8 100m Breaststroke to finish just outside the medals in 6th place, but in an excellent time just outside his own British Record. Sam competes today in his main event the 400m Freestyle which he won at the Paralympics.
Congratulations and good luck to both Charlotte and Sam.
