As swimming boosts strength, stamina and suppleness all at the same time, it is one of the few ways of getting exercise which improves all round fitness. Swimming is a demanding aerobic exercise which uses all the major muscle groups as well as keeping your heart and lungs healthy. Swimming also helps flexibility in the joints, especially, the neck, shoulders, hips and groin as it is your limbs which propel your body through the water, and by increasing th amount of physical activity through swimming, you increase the amount of energy you burn up helping weight management.

Swimming is an activity for all ages and levels of fitness and ability, which is accessible to virtually everyone, to performa at their own level, and because of the natural buoyancy in the water, swimming is generally kinder than land based exercises, and as found out by the recent MORI report becoming more and more popular.
